Abstract

The usefulness of the architectural design of a hospital is not only limited to the challenges of organising the flow of users and helping doctors to treat the disease, but it must also take into account the psychological and human aspect of patients Thus, and through an empirical study using the interview method aimed at the medical profession, we have tried to highlight the architectural aspect of health establishments, and to demonstrate the relationship between architectural design and the functionality of the infrastructure itself. In order to achieve the stated aim, we traced the evolution of health care institutions, highlighting the relationship between the techno-medical evolution and the metamorphosis of hospital buildings. On the other hand, an attempt was also made to demonstrate the relationship between the performance of the medical profession and architectural design
